Kim Seondal Review - Heist Movie Meets Gorgeous Period Drama

Kim Seondal Review

Yoo Seung-Ho is back and as charismatic and adorable as ever!!

Kim Seondal starts with Kim In-Hong (Yoo Seung-Ho) surviving a battle with two other stranglers. Time passes and we find In-Hong and his buddies are now master con-men who swindle people out of their riches. But when In-Hong decides to cross the powerful, ruthless noble Sung Dae-Ryeon (Jo Jae-Hyun), In-Hong loses more than he could imagine – and must create the ultimate revenge con against him.

Things I Loved

Well this movie was absolutely beautiful! Gorgeous scenery and costumes create a lush period drama that is total eye candy.

And the acting was wonderful with Yoo Seung-Ho (Queen Seondeok, Warrior Baek Dong Soo) even more adorable and enigmatic than I’ve seen him in a long time. His smile! How could you not love him!

Jo Jae-Hyun was awesome as the ruthless villain, bringing the gravitas to the role to make him seem like a truly formidable man.

EXO’s Xiumin was soooo sweet and precious as In-Hong’s you…

The Fangirl’s Chapter Challenge: Persuasion Ch. 7-9

Chapter 7-9: Perpetual Estrangement And The First Romantic Gesture

The Fangirl’s Chapter Challenge is an original weekly challenge/meme started here at Just Way Too Boss. The rules are super simple and fun!

1.Choose a book and however many chapters you want to write about in a week
2.Each week write your thoughts about the chapter
3.Be fangirl-y and have fun! You can follow my template (summary, thoughts, quotes, life lessons) or do whatever you feel like! Just let us know what happened in the chapter(s) and what you thought of them!

For my first The Fangirl’s Chapter Challenge, I’m tackling Jane Austen’s super romantic novel Persuasion!  I will be breaking down the novel into 3 chapters a week. Here’s the next three chapters!

Summary

Chapter 7 brings the much-awaited moment!! Captain Wentworth and Anne in the same room! After seven years!

Backing up a bit, we find the Musgrove family eager to get Captain Wentworth over since he was the last captain for their son before he died. Meanwh…

Dream Cast: Little Women K-drama Adaptation

My third K-drama dream cast is for the beloved Little Women classic. This darling story would be awesome as a K-drama. I think it would be best for the story to be modernized.

It could be a contemporary story about four daughters growing up, struggling to make a living, while their Dad is overseas serving in a medical charity. They become friends with the neighbor boy, a lonely 3rd generation chaebol. The girls experience love, heartbreak and growing pains as they mature into little women.

Cast

kim ji won - jo march
han ye ri - meg march
park so dam - beth march
lee sung kyung - amy march
bae jong ok - marmee
park hyung shik - laurie
kim ji han - mr. brooks
lee sun gyun - professor bhaer

Ji-Won (Descendants of the Sun, Fight My Way) would be perfect as the spunky relatable Jo while Ye-Ri (Six Flying Dragons, Age of Youth) would be the more restrained, bossy eldest sister Meg. So-Dam (Cinderella and the Four Knights) would bring on the tears as an utterly lovable sweet Beth and Sung-K…

The Fangirl Recap Snack: Bride of the Water God Ep 4

The Fangirl Recap Snack: Bride of the Water God Ep 4
Short, random fangirly moments – basically a recap snack! Warning: this morsel is loaded with spoilers!
Bride of the Water God Episode 4
Habaek saves So-Ah (she knows he’s a god now! Yay finally!), but of course his powers disappear immediately after. Habaek then moves into So-Ah’s place, meets again with Moo Ra (Ji Ya), and tries to convince her to give him the god stone but she’s resistant. Meanwhile So-Ah plans to sell her land and leave Korea.

Habaek saving the day (and finally So-Ah sees his powers!) Of course Habaek's powers disappear immediately after the rescue, but I'm totally cool with that. I mean if he had his powers already, things would be too easy and then the show wouldn't have enough episodes, so it all works out!

I know, girl! He looks 23 to me too!
So much relief when So-Ah finally realized that Habaek really is the water god. Of course her disbelief of such a statement was funny but I feel like the stor…

The Best Way Is To Let Go

The Best Way Is To Let Go

Cue the song.

“Time to let go of trying to find that best way to do that thing before you do it.”

Okay, I paraphrased but it’s basically what I read on someone’s Facebook post a week ago.

Oh my word. How can you possible just say that? You can’t tell me to just do something without finding the best way possible! I have to find the best way! Never mind in the real world I actually mean procrastinating for a LOOOONG time or just never doing it at all.

Because it has to be PERFEEEEEECT!!

Isn’t that the whole point???

Or so I’ve believed almost my entire life. Why? Perfectionism = insecurity. (can I just go on the record and say I dislike the word insecurity… doesn’t make me feel secure, lol) If it’s not perfect, then it’s not really good enough or secure. So it’s better not to try at all. Which is definitely not perfect either, but your mind tends to ignore that point. The brain always finds a way to ignore those good points in favor of an unrealistic mindset it…

Persuasion continues with much needed backstory as we’re all nipping at the bit to learn about Anne’s somebody from the past. 7 years ago in 1806, a young Frederick Wentworth (also, my apologizes because I thought that Frederick was Edward Wentworth, the cura…
